Wish I could find the corresponding story. I’m imagining a dystopian version of Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel, where Mike and his shovel help terraform the Sonoran Desert into a more hospitable environment after the rest of the nation is rendered uninhabitable by a nuclear holocaust.
